Rob Longstaff is a New Zealand born, Australian bred, Berlin based Soul/Pop/Blues musician.
After working Australia's tough but rewarding Pub circuit, Rob packed his bags and headed for Berlin, a city which he now calls home. In between his musical accomplishments Rob likes a challenge, having now hitchhiked across three continents, toured Indian and African orphanages and hospitals, ventured to Antarctica and travelled overland from Berlin to Australia by bicycle, train and ship. In 2011 he went on a solar boat tour from Berlin to Hamburg. Rob is also hoping to “sell” the benefits of slow travel and is part of a growing number of travellers who have grown tired of the stress and security paranoia associated with airports and air travel.
Rob is determined to lead by example and hopes where possible to offer his music and services with as little impact on our eco-system as possible and is enjoying spending extra time, money and imagination on eco-friendly packaging and touring concepts.
“Boogaloo” is Rob's debut with Blackbird Music. This fresh release is packed with soulful acoustic gems and was recorded over three days at Blackbird studios in Berlin. Every track is a one-take, recorded in one piece, without any tricks and technical gimmicks.
